get link When I visited Delhi this time, I had made up my mind to pay a visit to this Baoli which I had heard so much about.

click Situated at Hailey road, it is well connected and very close to Connaught place. It is a step well built by Maharaja Agrasen centuries ago. History says it was rebuilt during the Tughlaq period. The baoli has three levels. The architecture reveals arched niches on both sides in each level. The steps lead down to an area where one could find a reservoir of water. However, it is all dried up now.

Although the place where the baoli is, is surrounded by modern buildings and other urbanization traits, inside the baoli there is a strange feeling of peace and silence. As if the busy road outside is suddenly shut out of your mind once you enter the place. One could sit for hours in this place and do nothing. A strange feeling which transforms you to an unseen era.

watch Some people also say the place is haunted. On a google search the place’s name appears on top in the list of haunted places and thus I was more interested to visit it and experience it myself. However, the time when we visited, which was around late afternoon, the place was filled with young couples and college goers and thus I did not get any eerie feeling. But I must admit that it would be a challenge for anyone to visit it during dark hours when the place is empty. For security reason the place closes for visitors by 5:30pm and so experiencing a night at the place seems out of question.

go here How to Visit: It is situated at Hailey Road. Take a cab, auto to the place directly. It is at a walking distance from Connaught place. So, one can take a metro till Rajiv Chowk and walk down to this place.
