Biswa Bangla Gate

Sudden plans have proved fruitful in my case. So yet again we made plans for a sudden visit to Biswa Bangla Gate. Situated at Rabindra Tirtha, the new part of Kolkata called Newtown in Rajarhat, this structure grabs everyone’s attention. Since it is very close to my office and I literally watched it being made while travelling every day to my destination, I was all the more eager to go there. A quick booking online through its website and viola we were ready to go.

We collected the tickets from the counter there. Parking is available and quite hassle free. There are various slots, each 45 minutes long. For safety reasons, as the structure can hold certain amount of weight, there is restriction in maximum number of visitors at a given point of time.

Once inside, we had a spectacular view. First, we went around the entire structure and enjoyed the 360° view. The structure looks like a huge donut suspended in air. With broad roads below and so much greenery around, it just looks wonderful. The inside walls on one side have various paintings and arts of Bengal. There are sofas and chairs inside for people to sit, relax and enjoy the view.

Rabindra Tirtha can be seen here.

Currently there is a small café corner which has decent snacks items and tea and coffee being served. And I really hope they have a better option in near future. There is a restaurant also that serve meals. The details about their special offers for corporate and individuals and the menu can be checked from their website : https://www.biswabanglagatekolkata.in/

I would suggest to read their about us page if you are interested to know the nitty gritty about the structure: https://www.biswabanglagatekolkata.in/about.php
